All PowerPuff Girls Games for GBA Review
18The Powerpuff Girls: Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go is an shoot-em up game. You have the three girls and you can toggle between them. And since the three don’t have different powers, nor behave different, you could say that they indicate how many lives you have. When one of them falls, you can continue with the others. You can pick up some power ups to enhance your beams. And before and after each level you get a cutscene. A big complaint about the game is how long the levels are. Some levels are stupidly long, taking even around 10 minutes to finish. Which is a lot when your only checkpoint is at the end of a level. Also enemy patterns were recycled. Which means that in some levels you actually get the same level, but with a different background. And in the other levels, the game gets ridiculously tough. Especially in the last level, where if you don’t pick up every health pack and power up you’re dead.
The boss battles are creative, but too bad that they are overshadowed by the long levels.
The Powerpuff Girls HIM and Seek is a fetch quest type of game. And the game is very easy to beat. The items are so easy to get that you can get the even by accident. The combat is basic. You have only a punch button. Which makes combat feel rather in the way than fun. The visuals are nice, and in boss battles is where the games shine. Boss battles are creative and many times imply different gameplay mechanics. Like playing pinball, or frogger. Overall, the game is okay. It’s very easy to beat, the combat is basic and the item collecting is dull, but I can’t call it a bad game. It’s an okay game.
