Altina with Slaying Edge Build and Buff-Stacking vs. Lyn Emblem in Arena - FEH
Altina is a formidable unit with great attack, resistance, and an ability to strike consecutively with her personal weapons, Ragnell and Alondite. In this run, Altina fights with speed against a Lyn Emblem squad. Altina, however, is a slow sword flier. To provide her speed, she has the +Spd Slaying Edge, Spd+3 on her A-skill, and Spd+3 seal. This gives her 29 Spd. As an arena bonus unit, she gains 33 Spd. Buffs will be used to obtain the maximum speed during combat at unprecedented levels for a slow unit like Altina. The Lyn squad generally has speed above 30. That is not enough for Altina to double without buffs, and these ladies will crush Altina that has no buffs. The Lyn squad cannot be underestimated.
Astram and Kaden are an excellent duo to provide Altina buffs. Astram's Mercurius provides +4 Atk/Spd/Def/Res for him and his allies within two spaces. Astram has Spur Atk 3 for +4 Atk and Drive Spd for +3 Spd to support Altina. Kaden has Spd/Res Link 3 to provide +6 Spd/Res if an assist skill like Pivot from him and Reposition from teammates, Spur Atk 3, and Spur Atk/Spd 2 for +3 Atk/Spd boost for Altina while being adjacent to him. Due to Kaden's ability to provide Bonus Doubler buffs for Altina, Altina becomes a deadly dual sword duelist with a maximum of 39 + 6 + 3 + 3 = 51 Spd during combat. If the buffs from Astram includes Kaden but without Kaden's Spd/Res Link 3, Altina will have 37 + 4 + 3 + 3 = 47 Spd. For the Bonus Doubler buffs for Altina, it will give the +Atk/Spd/Def/Res Spur buff for her while Kaden receives the field buffs from Astram. For instance, if Altina gets +4 all stats, she gains +4 stats during combat. However, Kaden must not be debuffed in order to supply the combat buffs for her. This situation can only be achieved if Astram is within two spaces from Altina and Kaden. If either requirements are not met, Altina will struggle against opponents with Spd.
This is an exercise to explore ways to build Spd on a slow unit like Altina. I like this application of buffs to turn Altina into a fast unit. I was thinking about this concept for days, and I decided to put it into action for Altina. She is a fascinating unit to play. Despite of her -Atk nature, she can deal damage as long as her buffs are placed properly. This exercise will be more difficult when Altina is not a bonus unit. When I play Altina regularly on most game modes, she will be using her main weapon along with her personal A-skill.
Black Knight is included because he boosts Arena scoring, given that he is my only +10-merged unit. Kaden and Astram are an awesome unit to bring together to stack buffs. The big weakness is that if any of the units are hit by Panic, all buffs convert into de-buffs, thus nullifying Kaden's bread-and-butter support buffing of teammates.
Oops, I forgot to show the stats of each Lyn in that squad. As a trade-off, the music got the proper transition at the end of the fight.
