Amazon Echo Farts in Command! My kids favorite feature.
5,772I will show you why you need an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or Tap in your life and which one is right for you. At first glance, many people see these devices as nothing more than a Siri or Google Now clone but after playing with them for a few weeks I realized that it goes far beyond that and everyone could benefit from having these devices around. Also, before you try and call me out for liking a spying device while railing Microsoft for doing the same thing realize that Echo is open source and I know exactly what it sends and when. Microsoft has publicly said they will not tell us what data is collected and it's encrypted so we can't see for ourselves. The fact they won't tell is what is sent is pretty incriminating since it would be no threat to them to say they collect key strokes which we already know!

Q) You called the Tap a Touch a few times?
A) It's easy to get the name confused since you touch the device to make it work. One of the downsides to operating without a script and just going with your gut like I do in all my videos.
Q) What devices can this control?
A) Install the Amazon Alexa app and go under devices and you can see all the modules you can enable to control stuff. There are over 50 modules currently not including the features you can enable to play games and do other cool stuff with Echo.
Q) Why is the Amazon Echo $100 more then the DOT when they can do the same thing?
A) The Amazon Echo has a very high-quality speaker in it that produces amazing bass and room filling audio you would swear was coming from a stereo system, the volume is also very impressive. This is what you're paying for on the larger unit. If you already have a speaker system in the room just the DOT and tie it into it or pair it with a Bluetooth speaker if you want more volume, however I find even the DOT speaker produces enough sound to be good for listening to music on the nightstand like I do when I'm going to sleep.
Q) Is this video sponsored?
A) Nope, I didn't get paid to do this video and I didn't even receive free hardware for the review. This is stuff I purchased myself and wanted to review since my son loves it so much and I was excited to see how well the home automation stuff worked which is a game changer for me.
Q) What about privacy? Aren't you concerned?
A) This thing runs on open source code that amazon made fully available so people can check for security issues or possible leaks of data.
