AMD Just Won - Official RX 9070 XT Performance
AMD's upcoming RX9070 XT might just be a whole lot faster than I was expecting. Let's talk about it.
Now real quick, first I want to take a look at this bit of information that was posted over on videocardz.com and actually originates over from Baidu, and it looks like one user posted quote "According to the personal test of a person who has the most profound hardware knowledge in this forum, it is about 350mm squared." And by the way, they're talking about the 9070 XT die. But essentially this is significant because it tells us not only roughly how much it's going to cost AMD to produce this card, which in turn tells us the minimum amount of money they're going to be wanting to make off of the card, but it also goes to show roughly what type of performance we can be expecting out of this GPU.(...) Because if it actually is roughly the same size as something like an RTX 5080 or maybe a little bit smaller than that, which does appear to be the case, well then you can expect close to the performance of an RTX 5080 assuming they use the die space responsibly or as well as Nvidia, which is still yet to be seen.
