AMD Roadmap Leaked Threadripper 2 & Next Gen Threadripper & Inflection Optimization
326AMD's roadmap has been leaked from between 2017 to 2020, and shows there will be several distinctive generations. We will see the 2nd generation threadripper hit in 2018 as we already knew, along with pinnacle ridge.
Next year will see castle peak, matisse and picasso hit which is the HEDT, mainstream and APUs respectively.
Then in 2020, AMD shall unleash an NG HEDT (which we can presume will be threadripper 3) Vermeer (based upon Zen 3) and finally Renoir, likely an APU of sorts which will have the Zen 3 CPU although the GPU architecture isn't yet known.
AMD have also had rumors to tell us that they might be sold again... but it might just be a reverse take over... assuming if this accurate at all.
Finally, Intel's coffee lake range is expanding... yet again with the curiously titled I7 8670, a 6 core 12 thread affair which might reduce the cost of Intel's 6 core CPUs slightly to below 300 USD... in theory.
