0AMD RX 6800 11th gen Intel 11700K vs 10700k benchmarks: Before the AMD Radeon RX 6800, AMD graphics cards didn’t compete too much with the best Nvidia graphics cards in the high-performance range, leaving Team Green to dominate the enthusiast space for years. AMD did make an attempt with the Radeon VII in 2019 to compete with the RTX 2080. And, while the 2080 ultimately came out on top, it was a sign of things to come.
In July of 2019, AMD came out with the first of their RDNA GPUs, the Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700, providing the first real competition to the Nvidia cards in the same price range. And, though these provided great alternatives for 1080p gaming, the top of the range, like RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2080 Ti still went unopposed.
With the Radeon RX 6800, it’s no longer the budget cards that are truly viable alternatives to Team Green. This card is able to outperform the RTX 3070, though it does cost $80 more, coming in at $579 (likely around £579, AU$800) to the RTX 3070's $499 (£469, AU$809). It’s too bad AMD didn’t keep their usual price advantage, charging 10% more for about 5-15% more performance. Nvidia’s offering is still more feature-rich, losing out only in performance. But, with the RX 6800, you can now turn on ray tracing when playing Cyberpunk 2077.
