17,468AMD's new APUs have been on the market via OEMs for a few months now, so we bought one with the Ryzen 5 5600G to benchmark & review vs. a cheap CPU + GPU and vs. the 5600X.

We bought the AMD R5 5600G APU for testing. This solution compares most directly to the Intel i3-10100 and GT 1030 combination, which combined (at time of publishing) come out to about the same price as an AMD R5 5600G's MSRP for when it officially launches to the DIY market on August 5th. Of course, the alternative to a CPU + GPU (cheap) combination is the APU, but the APU can also be coupled with a dGPU later, if you happen to get one, and so we've tested the R5 5600G with GPUs to determine the maximum capabilities of the CPU when compared to the Intel i5-10700K, i9-10900K, AMD R5 5600X, R7 5700X, and R5 3600, among others.
