March 15 marked how many extra days the average American woman had to work to make the same pay as a man in 2021. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2020, the average woman earned 83 cents for every dollar the average man earned.

Insiya Hussain, an assistant professor of management at the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business, joined KVUE Midday to try to help us better understand the pursuit for equal pay.
