So I had my chat vote on the first game we played for the Halloween season and they chose Amnesia...sort of. I had never played this before and was not exactly excited to check it out. I'm not the biggest fan of the stalk and hide games. But for what this game lacks in spookiness it makes up for in puzzles. The puzzles are fun and don't take a ton of effort to figure out. I got stuck once in the game and taht was because it was not obvious as to where or what I needed to do to make progress. It was well hidden. The atmosphere is nice and the idea that you have limited light in the game i clever. I love the old gothic European castles and the environments are fun to explore. You are usually rewarded for going off the beaten path though there aren't really many areas that would count as hidden. There are some tense moments and not many jump scares. The downside to when you get spotted is that if there isn't a clear and easy hiding spot it felt impossible to get away and I was guaranteed to die. The game is not too long and has a decent story. I still had some questions about what was really happening in the story and maybe they left more open and vague on purpose. It's also possible the other 2 games answer some of those questions. There is also a set of short stories included and a short game called Justine which I also played and liked better than the main game. It was largely weirder and more intriguing. I had fun with this it was a great way to start the spooky season. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
