In 2003, Harmonix released Amplitude for the PlayStation 2.
A sequel to their other rhythm-based game, Frequency, it sold more copies than its predecessor and got critical praise and multiple awards, even though it wasn't a financial success.
Despite this, Amplitude not only improved over its predecessor, but some features laid the foundation for other games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Dance Central.

Starting as a Kickstarter campaign in 2014, Amplitude returns to the video game scene.
While it lacks prominent named artists and game modes, it makes up for this with addicting gameplay, intuitive controls, energetic music and beautiful visuals.
