Review and longplay / walkthrough for "BombJack II" (or Bomb Jack 2) on the Amstrad CPC!

So! Elite Systems got the go ahead from Tecmo to do their *own* sequel to the classic Bomb Jack for the home computers... did they do it justice? Hmmm well... it's not really Bomb Jack is it? For starters WHERE ARE THE DAMN BOMBS?! However, ignore the licence and it's actually a really excellent and playable game... incorporating arcade style gameplay with puzzle and platforming elements, it's actually incredibly well designed and FUN! Tough as hell though, especially if you're trying to beat the game like I am!!

The game loops around on level 18, so that's where I stop the longplay :)

Below are the times for the level in the video and which bomb (or rather 'sack of gold') to go for first to best complete the level in order...

Level 1 01:18 - go down
Level 2 01:54 - go up to the top
Level 3 02:38 - down 1, left 1
Level 4 03:20 - left
Level 5 03:55 - take the one at the start/middle next to you
Level 6 04:47 - no choice!
Level 7 05:54 - up, then first one, down then right
Level 8 07:00 - left but don't grab - up then grab!
Level 9 07:58 - take the one to the right nearest you
Level 10 08:59 - Right + take, back then up
Level 11 09:36 - awkward! take the right one of the two on the left most platform!
Level 12 10:22 - Take the middle one
Level 13 11:20 - Take the first one to the right of you
Level 14 12:13 - Go right and down to the first one you come to
Level 15 13:14 - Up and first one on right
Level 16 14:25 - Just take the one next to you at the start
Level 17 15:45 - Right (a little) then down
