Also, to answer my own questions posited by my forestry musings in today's episode: "A terraforming error left the planet with an unnaturally dense cloud cover and a colder than average climate making it an ideal location for owner microTech to house its heat-sensitive computing and manufacturing centers."

So I was right in a way, there were problems with the terraforming of Microtech..... Now to consider solutions to the stalled ecology observed today.
