Analogue Pocket DOCK quick unboxing with dock question - will link cable work with it?

I ordered the Analogue Pocket DOCK about a year ago and it finally arrived so I wanted to make a quick, simple unboxing video.

I didn't realize it at the time when I placed my order, but the AP website says that link cable support is NOT possible when using the dock. My question is, what if a extension cable is used, providing access to the link port at the bottom of the handheld. I was going to test this myself, but if you know, please share in the comments.
