102Really don't want Minecraft arguments in this video. If you don't like Minecraft...don't watch. Unfortunately, due to how much work I've had lately, I've just been swamped. I can work on Minecraft stuff while monitoring things at work, but I can't LP. Thus, I build this stuff up, and do a short recording when I get home.
So in the last video I spoke of my idea for a 'firewall' in which a passageway would seal, and lava would fill the gap between the seal. This is a functional 'prototype' of it. Basically, it's half of the passage (and I figured once I had half done, the other half would be simple to mirror.
The real tricky part was the lava. When I ran it in the 2x2 passage, sometimes it would flow too slow and when the doors opened, lava would leak out catching our poor person on fire. Thus, I designed a 'displacer' that would push iron blocks into the space of the fire wall (lava) and remove it, then quickly retract.
Obviously, the hardest part was transmitting a short burst of current while using a lever. However, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, and I look forward to actually putting it in place! (once iPwnies builds my labratory!)
