Andor is the most off-brand Star Wars story in many ways. It follows the cultural shifts of the last 50 years more than most of the other Star Wars properties and it incorporates multiple Left-wing historical influences into the Rebellion, yet does this with what in many ways has become a story not of revolution, but restoration.

The end result is a story that works on multiple levels, from the individual characters of Cassian, Dedra, and Syril up to the macro-level symbolism of the transformation of the Rebellion from an insurgency to a Galactic State.
