A rom hack for once. And my longest out of the line of Mario playthroughs from the following weeks. I have no interest to play them on the japaneese computers they were made for and I know I missed this special star that wipes out every enemy seen on the screen.

My overall thoughts on this one is frustrating but a fun sight. Frustrating only because of some of the levels. But I found it really cool that custom things could be added to the original SMB and to me it fits perfectly to bring in the 2 enemies from the original Mario Bros. arcade as well the barrels and hammer from Donkey Kong. Really ties in Mario early appearances to his grand adventure. My only issues with SMB Special is the pointless Hudson Bee. Are points really worth anything or am I speaking from the perspective of someone raised in the 2000s? Also the lack of Luigi. I mean it's called Super Mario BROS. Special. We should have the option to play the BRO. Ah well. Point is I'd love to have this game in a cartridge and it's a bit tolerable over the Lost Levels.
