Read this! These are all the details to the event:
You know events such as E3 and CES? Where the latest video games and electronics of the year are paraded about in front of us and all of the hype it generates around the gaming community?
What if we could do something like that, but with our Let's Play channels?
Sounds crazy, I know, but hear me out.
I propose an event where, for a couple of days, we all promote one another! Think of it as a chance to network with some other LP'ers and help them (and yourself) reach out to a wider audience!
If you think this is an even slightly good idea, then read on!
Guidelines are as follows:
1) Be awesome. (Oh wait, we already are. Carry on, then.)
2) You produce a 30 second montage video, advertising yourself and your channel.
-The video can be in any style at all, whether it's a still image with you talking over it, or a live video of yourself as you speak.
-Video should include the following:
-Your name: Real names are optional, but at least include your YouTube username
-Your channel URL: Place this somewhere noticeable in the video, but please try to avoid putting it somewhere nonsensical. Such as over your face.
-Your Let's Plays: This is what the event is all about, but it gets kind of technical.
-Tell people the basics of what you do!
-Include some way to show the people watching the video what you've accomplished!
-Use either a physical thumbnail or text to direct people's attention to your projects!
-Please try to include whatever project(s) you are working on currently atop whatever else!
-Please don't spam! Keep it to three or four examples at most!
3) Send your videos to me, along with your username via YouTube Message.
I will edit together a complete advertisement video from the collection of channels I've received videos from! Expect a message from me with the video included as well as official dates for the event!
4) On the official date sent to you in the message, post up your copy of the advertisement video! You may take it down later, but please leave the video live and public for the duration of the event!
-You may choose to use annotation links to direct people to the channels and videos shown in the video, but that is entirely up to you.
Should everything go as planned, everyone should win in this scenario! Every participant should, logically, see some increase in viewership. This increase may be permanent or temporary, I can't say which, but it will prove a good way to get your name out in the community regardless of the level of success of the project.
Depending on the success of the event, I may make this an annual event for the community! Details on that one are still to come, but I'll let everyone know how things went!
Please get back to me and let me know if you're interested! Don't forget to send your clip to me, and please include a large-resolution (not ridiculous now) image of your YouTube Icon! Included in this message is an example of what kind of video I'm expecting from everyone! Thanks for your (possible) participation in this event!

I hate to do something like that, but it wouldn't make sense for me to run the event nonstop. I fear it would be nearly impossible to keep up with responses if I were to let them go. Plus, I want a finite amount of footage to edit together at the end of the submission timeframe. I hope you all understand. :)

*PS: The use of images is not required, I will be adding a collection of link boxes at the end of every video I receive in order to allow for links to everything mentioned in your section. The links themselves, however, will have to be added on your own, since youtube annotations cannot be shared between users. (dumb)
*PPS: Also, if there is a song you would like used at the end of your segment (game-related, please) let me know, and I'll do my best to implement it over the channel icon and playlist boxes!
