I encountered this annoying bug in the Mika and the Witch's Mountain demo. It was as though the right analog and Y buttons were stuck, even when no controller attached. I eventually figured out I could ALT+Tab to some other window and it would stop and I could play. Doing ALT+Tab (or clicking) back to the game window caused the spinning to resume.
