Even though the newspapers are calling the suspect "The Anubis Killer," and referring to them as a serial killer, there doesn't seem to be any proof that they've actually killed anybody yet. Maybe that's because I decided to start this game by playing the tutorial, but the lack of victims is starting to make it feel like there might be some Minority Report-style shenanigans going on.

Independently developed and published by Glass Knuckle Games, Noir Syndrome is a procedurally generated side-scrolling murder mystery game with a pixelated 1920's aesthetic. Taking on the role of a private investigator, players have fourteen days to track down a bloodthirsty criminal that calls themselves the Anubis Killer. Each location in the city is unique, with a number of clues to uncover, suspects to interrogate, and dangers to contend with.

Another day, another case. I've seen my share of murders in this city, but this time was different. This time wasn't an isolated incident, no crime of passion. This time the killer goes by the name Anubis, after the Egyptian god of death. This time the cops don't have a clue, so I get stuck with the case.. of course. There's a monster out there, Jasper. Every day they're free is one more chance that some poor bastard turns into another sacrifice. Looks like I better get started..
