Another Look At DOOM Eternal's Update 1 Bugs And Issues
582I made a video the other day about how DOOM Eternal's performance has been negatively impacted following the release of the Update 1 patch. That video was more of an angry rant, where I vented my frustrations. But I wanted to discuss this all again with a level head. I went back to it, and recorded more findings. The frame dips, and performance issues are consistent every time I play, but the crashing seems to have stopped. I also see consistent AI issues now that I never noticed before, which begs the question is AI behavior connected to frame rate? Here is another video, documenting some things that I have found regarding performance and AI, as well as addressing some of the rumors and speculation I have seen floating around DOOM forums, and my brief take on the Denuvo controversy. At the end of the video I have unedited performance comparisons comparing the game on Ultra Nightmare graphical settings (how I always played pre-patch), with Low graphical settings to show how the game is performing now, and how AI is being affected.
Luckily, since the game does run well on Low, the game is still playable for me. But other people are not coming out as lucky.

Also, Hugo Martin has commented. The Marauder HAS NOT been nerfed, and Id is aware of the performance issues, and is working on fixing it.

32 GB of RAM
64 Bit OS
Nvidia Geforce 1070 Graphics Card
8337 MB VRAM
Windows 10
Before this update, I was able to run the game at max settings (Ultra Nightmare graphics) at a 110 FOV with NO performance issues. To those people who think this is because I need a better rig, no update should make my original performance significantly worse. Especially when it's above the game's recommended minimum requirements.
