With the popular releases of the Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake, I wanted to talk about how some "remakes" have become their own thing, and aren't really "remakes" at all. I wanted to talk about the definitions of remasters, reboots, and remakes. I think we should start calling these "remakes" something else to help differentiate them. Because you really aren't getting the same experience playing FFVII or RE3 Remakes as you would playing the original games, at all.
