This is me playing one of Antstream Arcade many challenges. The game in question is "CJ's Elephant Antics" for the ZX Spectrum. The challenge name is "Frogs n' Snails" and the description is "Score as many points as you can in two minutes across this French labyrinth! You've only got three lives."


So you start pretty early on the first level and you must maximize your points for the next 2 minutes. You can get close to the end boss if you try to speed run it but he only gives you 1000 points and you end up around 3000 points total if you destroy all the enemies on the level.


The enemies don't respawn once they are destroyed but there is one enemy that keeps spawning new entities which is the angry cloud that shoots lighting bolts. The lighting bolts can be destroyed with one bomb or with two peanut shots. Since time is of the essence you really want to get a few bomb drops so you can keep destroying the lighting bolts as fast as you can.


There is some luck involved since sometimes there isn't any bomb drops and sometimes the cloud is not so agry an keeps just shifting sides without shooting lighting bolts.


This challenge was used in the 2nd "12 Days of Retro!" in December of 2019 where challenge score to beat was 890.
