AOCG | Painkiller: Hell & Damnation (2012) that Remake that no one asked for
Imagine Painkiller with worse weapons and awful maps ... imagine no longer ... the original game promoted itself with its engine, that could place 200 or more models on the screen, with no hick-ups on a Pentium II in 2004... a game that lets you fight gigantic monsters the size of a mountain ... had a remake in 2012 , that thought adding in-engine cutscenes , nerfing its weapons , changing its maps , music , fell and concept how it was played ... was what this game needed (?!)... ehm , no !
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation was developed by Farm51 ... a dev studio that was created after "People Can Fly" was outright bought by Epic in August 2012 aka Hostile Takeover... after they developed for them critical acclaimed "Gears Of War 1" PC port , its Stand Alone DLC for Part 3 "Gears of War: Judgment' and "BulletStorm" ... what Epic did to the company was horrible , but like with any hostile takeover the main talent left ... so here comes Farm51 , theirs next game was to be Painkiller 2 but no longer having the Ip brand name they remade it as ... NecroVisioN ... fueled by 1C money to finance this product since to survive they had to do odd jobs outsourcing themselves as anything to survive , after its success... they thought "hey lets get the Ip back that made us famous and remake it" ...but they forgot about one thing ... they missed Adrian Chmielarz genius (Polish Kojima) to properly remake it, ey ! ( He made his own studio with his own games , now making Witchfire )
Farm51 after this failure made another ... failure ... a action adventure build on the adventures of Allan Quatermain called "Deadfall Adventures" oh boy ... some call it a Logic adventure action FPS , some "wtf is this"... after its failure and its remakes to fix the game ... they did another odd jobs developing a game that wanted to be a IP first of its kind ... a Game made using Photogrammetry , that was to have Unreal Realistic graphics ... (we will see) ... but when it came in 2017 , well ... they say it was good...
