[BLIND LET'S PLAY]

With Yasumi being put to rest as soon as they returned to the shrine, Neo and Syouko take the opportunity to learn more about the mysterious girl who woke up while they were away, one whom the others have taken to calling "Nami". Turns out the girl is mute, so all attempts to get her to talk about any one thing have proven almost completely futile. Nevertheless, everyone vows to keep looking after her at the shrine until they can either find her parents or find her someone who can take care of her in case her family is nowhere to be found anywhere on the islands.



Eventually Yasumi recovers some of her strength and it is decided that she and Syouko can help bathe Nami since it would appear that Nami might have trouble doing that herself. Syouko and Yasumi take this time to relax after a long day and discuss various things with each other. Later on, the nightly activities Momoko had spent the day setting up begins with Syouko and several others, including Migiwa, telling each other ghost stories inside the darkened shrine. The story that Migiwa tells is particularly captivating, and Momoko acts like she's constantly on the verge of a heart attack, much to Neo's amusement. After the stories are concluded, the main event begins: Momoko's "Test of Courage", which involves everyone in the Kendo club going into the sal forest in pairs to find the Tokosaki no Subaki and bring back cans of soda to show they made it to their destination and back, all the while avoiding traps Momoko had set up all throughout the path.



Syouko and Yasumi are paired up and end up going into the forest last, but on their way there Syouko experiences more flashbacks, remembering a time when she was younger and walking through a forest with another young girl, not quite able to recall all the fine details that would allow her to identity who the girl is (Neo thinks the other girl is Yasumi). The duo also seem to encounter something sinister in the forest, but Neo has them avoid it and the potential danger it represents, but not before briefly catching sight of someone who seems to be watching them from afar. Eventually, they manage to find the Tokosaki no Tsubaki, and the sight of the tree causes the locked-up memories inside Syouko to flare up once again. However, when Syouko goes to touch the tree, it appears that something inside it transfers itself into Syouko, and as soon as it does the red flowers on all its branches suddenly fall off.



Not knowing what to make of these events, Syouko and Yasumi reluctantly return to the shrine with their can of coffee...
