Ape Escape 2: Final Specter Battle & Normal Ending
193Jimmy and Pipochi face Specter one last time at the core of his Moon Base: The sight of the Lethargy Laser. To avenge the Freaky Monkey Five, Specter hops inside a giant cymbal crashing monkey to defeat our heroes.
This big ape will try different things, such as summoning drones, launching missiles, and sucking you up, but the most important attack he has is his giant lasers. With the right timing, you have to use the Sky Flyer to rise and move over one of them. This takes me quite a while to pull off right, but whether you do it or now, the monkey will then have to rest. That's when you get up close to it to hit his belly with the Stun Club.
Besides the fumbles I pull, here, this boss is actually easy to beat. But then...

After beating the cymbal-crashing monkey enough times, it blows up to reveal its true form: Ultra Goliath! A gigantic robot of monkey madness!
Before he could use the full power of this on Jimmy, Specter's Ultra Goliath falls through the floor, so that it could only be seen from the chest up. Specter blames Jimmy for this, but Jimmy had nothing to do with it. Either way, Specter gets really pissed and tries to kill Jimmy where his robot now lies stuck, anyways.
Ultra Goliath also shoots missiles at you, but he will also try to grab you to slam you down, and punch you from above, which breaks part of the floor you were standing on. His most powerful move is to unleash a huge blue shockwave that you have to jump over with the Sky Flyer. After that, he'll once again have to recharge, and this time, you have to use the Electro Magnet to drop the metal chestplate in front of him, then use the Stun Club to bash Specter directly. You have to be fast about this, though.
After taking enough damage, Specter will shrink the arena to make it harder for you to dodge his attacks, but keep up the pace and prove him wrong. If you smack him one more time after this change, he's done for good!

Specter manages to make a quick escape into the room that contains the switch of the Lethargy Laser, inviting Jimmy to be the first human slave of what Specter calls "superior beings".
This angers Jimmy, as he knows that humans are more capable than anything Specter and his ape army have in store for the world. After pressing the switch, and an intense staredown between the two, Jimmy charges at Specter, and finally catches him with the Monkey Net, saving the world from disaster.
But his actions cause the area around Jimmy and Pipochi to explode. They manage to escape in time, thanks to a space ship they got just at last second. This likely came from the Professor and Natalie. With it, the duo head back home to Earth.

The credits then play, with a bunch of apes holding signs as they pass through a Japanese-styled cafeteria. I like the disclaimer after the end of it.
So I've beaten Ape Escape 2, since Jimmy managed to catch Specter in half the time it took Spike to do the same in the first game.
But is the game really over? I'm gonna have to reload that save file I just updated at the end of this video to find out!
