Aperture Gaming Thief and Dishonored Comparison and Review
Greetings fellow test subjects,
Sorry for the delay of the video. Our equipment was acting weird, so we had to re-shoot the reviews.
I first thought I was review Dishonored, seeing as I had only done the DLCs and not the main game itself. I was then told I was reviewing Thief. If you are a fan of Zero Punctuation, you will recall he talked about the Thief series and made the first note of comparison when Dishonored first came out. I liked Dishonored, but I felt some areas could have been tweaked, so I gave it an 8.5 out of 10.
As for Thief, I feel that both games are copying each other. Same story, plot, levels... the issue is whose game came first, or whose series came first. While almost a shot-for-shot remake of Dishonored, Thief has some elements all its own, both in series and in the game. I like how you can move a bit more freely about the city and how you have limited use of your thief sight. I also like the different types of arrows you can use and how your in-mission actions, like in Dishonored, are judged at the end. One technical issue I found in Thief was the sound. Some of the NPCs or other characters would be talking and the dialogs would conflict and over-lap, even if you had some distance between them and/or a wall was in the way.
But like I said, if you liked Dishonored and want more of the same with a few differences, some stuff added in, some stuff taken out, then you'll like Thief. We give Thief an 8.5 out of 10 also.
Thanks for watching.
