
Apex Legends banned over 2000 players for using ‘dashboarding’ exploit
Apex Legends has banned over 2000 players for abusing exploits in the game’s ranked mode.
Conor Ford, Security Analyst at Respawn Entertainment for Apex Legends, revealed on Twitter that 2,086 players were banned for “abuse of an RP loss forgiveness exploit (dashboarding) and abuse of a matchmaking exploit allowing high-rank players into a Bronze lobby to farm.”
Ford also provided a breakdown of the different platforms the cheaters were banned on, stating that on PC, 44 cheaters were banned, while on Nintendo Switch, it was 15 players, on Xbox, there were 62 players, and most of the cheaters were found to be on PS4 with 1,965 players banned.
He went on to note that “These are matchmaking bans that have varied lengths depending on extent of abuse” and stated that it “Sucks to miss the opening of a new season”, telling the cheaters to “come back next time around and enjoy the game how it’s meant to be played.”
Meanwhile, the new Apex Legends season, Emergence, will launch on August 3 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
