APOX -- Failing to play.
2APOX is an Indie post-apocolyptic Mad Max-esque RTS with an old-school vibe (it reminds me of "Z"), which went Open Beta late last year and was released for sale a few days ago. Although at times it still feels incomplete it has a rustic charm to it that I can't quite describe fairly.
What's different for APOX is that each unit is given the level of independance and control you'd expect from an in-depth FPS, with units able to change between a variety of stances, share ammo and swap weapons between them, carry important items such as ammo crates and supplies, heal each other, drag each other back to base, etc. while still feeling very much like an RTS.
The game's main draw is the skirmishes and multiplayer, which includes co-op -- a squad each versus AI armies -- and team/free-for-all skirmishes with up to 32 players and bots (for now).
It's also pretty cheap on Steam at the moment, so I recommend you grab it while you can for this price. http://store.steampowered.com/app/80000/
This is a small video of me demonstrating just how tough this game can get playing the first stealth* mission. This is the best I've done on it so far.
* - Yeah, I decided not to pay attention to that once I got myself some guns.
