The atmosphere is pretty decent, but the game relies so heavily on jump scares that you begin to expect them rather non stop. To be bluntly honest, I found the experience to be a boring one.
The story is pretty simple. Guy kills family. Reporter investigates. Spooky things happen. It's not very deep at all. The game is presented to you through very quick sections that almost feel like individual levels haphazardly tossed together without a real sense of tying the narrative together.
Graphically the game is fine. It's a house. You've got a VHS filter because it's spooky I guess. I do think some of the NPCs you encounter are well animated and positioned, and the minimal/quick movements does add to a creepy vibe.
In any case... The game takes about 40 minutes to complete. While I didn't really walk away from this feeling like I truly enjoyed it, I also didn't walk away thinking I didn't like it. I'm somewhere in the middle.
