Aquaponics system I built
230 gal. polypropylene tub fish tank
Tower design made from 3" diameter PVC pipes and net pots containing rockwool and hydrocorn
Using 3 x 2' 24 watt 6500k Sunblaster T5's for lighting
Water and solids from the fish tank are pumped above to the black 12 gal. polypropylene tub and filtered using my existing bell siphon and some fiberglass window screen mesh. Aeration, planter pots and scour pads are used inside to promote nitrification. When the siphon is triggered, the water flows downward to the plants then through another fiberglass window screen mesh filter just before it returns to the fish tank
