LOTS of old songs were removed, because of the spec problem of Konami System 573 Digital Hardware. These songs were added later, when GuitarFreaks and DrumMania V series was released. From 8th to 11th, attendants needed to connect e-amusement server for additional functions and contents. When the machine was connected with server, players can play some songs once added in previous games. It means, when the machine was not connected with server, players COULDN'T BE ABLE to play songs can be played by download ONLY.

- Trivia -
At Extra Stage, players can play MODEL DD2. At Encore Stage, they can play Concertino in Blue.

Because of the limitation of Konami System 573 Digital Hardware, there are lots of songs removed. The number of songs removed is much more than the number of songs newly added. At that time, lots of BEMANI Series games removed songs because of the spec of hardware they used; beatmania THE FINAL needed to select 150 songs voted previously, and DanceDanceRevolution needed to set lots of songs, but the quality of sound for each songs were not the same as their previous games; lower than previous games.

When you play GF by using Emulator MAME, you need to use the controller for CS version of GF, or other guitar controllers to play. If not, you need to use keyboard, but it will be VERY difficult to play GF by using keyboard. Pressing 2 more keys for picking like A or S and press ASASASAS... is NOT ABLE, so you CAN'T use alternate picking like real. It means, if you use keyboard, it looks like you play guitar picking JUST UP PICKING or DOWN PICKING. Because alternate picking is a very important technique when you playing guitar, it will be MUCH MORE DIFFICULT.

기타프릭스 7th MIX (c) 2002 코나미.

드럼매니아 6th MIX와의 세션 가능. 코나미 시스템 573 디지털 하드웨어의 스펙 문제로 인해 구곡이 상당히 많이 삭제된 작품. 더불어 판정 또한 타 작품들에 비해 많이 엄격했기 때문에 당시 유저들 사이에서의 평이 좋지는 않았던 작품. 구곡 삭제의 경우에는 삭제곡들의 수가 신곡의 수보다 더 많았으며, 이후에는 e-amusement 서버에 연결된 기체에 한해 서버에서 다운로드받아서 플레이할 수 있도록 조치를 취한 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 물론 이런 조치는 이후 기판이 교체가 되는 V 시리즈에서는 볼 수 없게 되었는데, V 시리즈가 PC 기반의 기판을 사용했기 때문.
기타프릭스뿐만이 아니라 당시 BEMANI 시리즈 작품들에서는 스펙 문제로 인해 구곡들을 다량으로 삭제해야 했던 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 대표적으로 5키 비트매니아 시리즈에서는 더 파이널의 경우 어떻게든 곡을 넣기 위해서 인기투표를 통해 곡들을 엄선해서 선별하고, BGA가 차지하는 비중을 극도로 줄이는 등의 고생을 해야 했다. 팝픈뮤직은 신곡+바로 직전 작품의 구곡만 수록했고, DDR의 경우에는 특히 익스트림에서 곡들을 넣기 위해 음질을 낮게 조정해야 했다.

- 이야깃거리 -
본 작품에서의 앙코르 스테이지는 사사키 히로후미 작곡의 Concertino in Blue. 이로 인해 사사키 히로후미는 기타프릭스와 드럼매니아 사상 처음이자 마지막으로 3연속으로 앙코르 스테이지에 곡을 투고하게 되었다.

엑스트라 스테이지에서 플레이할 수 있는 MODEL DD2는 당시나 지금이나 난이도가 높기로 유명. 때문에 앙코르 스테이지로 진출하기가 힘들었던 작품. MODEL DD2를 S랭크 이상으로 클리어하고 플레이를 할 수 있었던 곡이 바로 Concertino in Blue. 일본 내에서는 특히 이 작품에서 앙코르 스테이지를 보기 어렵다고 하여 "환상의 앙코르 시대"라고 부르기도 했다. 물론 통상해금이 이루어진 8th에서는 앙코르를 뽑지 못했던 유저들이 너도나도 곡을 선택.

MAME에서는 별도의 조작부 연결이 없으면 키보드로 플레이하게 되는데, 이 경우에는 얼터네이트 피킹을 사용한 속주 처리가 거의 불가능하다. 피킹에 키를 2개 이상 대응시켜놓고 키를 번갈아가며 누르는 것이 인식이 안 되기 때문, 즉, 피킹을 A키와 S키 두 개로 대응시키고 둘을 번갈아가면서 누르는 식으로 플레이를 할 수 없다. 사실상 키 하나만 연타하는 식으로 대응해야 하는 격.
