An attempt to try to beat Master Mode in Tetris: The Absolute - The Grand Master 2 PLUS, where the goal is to try to reach level 999 and get as high of a grade as possible.
The Master mode in this game is quite a bit more difficult than in the first game. The first 500 levels of this in terms of the game speed is the same as in Tetris: The Grand Master, but once you get to level 500, then the game starts ramping up in speed and difficulty quite fast. It's similar to what Master mode in Tetris Effect: Connected does where the amount of delay time for things like line clear animations, charging up DAS, and when pieces will lock on their own get shorter. The grade system is also ramped up a lot more in this game as well, as it is not only based on score, but also on the player's skill on how well they actually do. Once you reach level 999, the field clears and the credit roll challenge starts. There are 2 different credit rolls you can get: the Faded Roll, and the M Roll. The Faded Roll is where the pieces will turn invisible a few seconds after the piece locks, and clearing the Faded Roll will give you an Orange Line grade which ranks above Green Line grades. The M Roll is where the pieces turn invisible as soon as they are locked into place, providing a much more difficult challenge than the Fading Roll. Failing to clear the M Roll gets you a M grade, clearing it with less than 32 lines cleared gets you a Green Line GM grade, and clearing it with more than 32 lines cleared gets you an Orange Line GM grade.
This was the first time I had actually reached the S ranks in this game. It's actually impossible to reach S1 rank before level 500 in Master mode as climbing the grading system is much more steep and heavily weighted towards the last 250 levels then in the first 250. Hoping to climb the S ranks in this game as well towards a GM grade one day. Enjoy!
