A speedrun of Tetris: The Absolute - The Grand Master 2 PLUS' Normal mode, going through 300 levels as fast as possible.
Here we are, the second game in the Tetris: The Grand Master series to be released for the Arcade Archives on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. This game features more game modes to play and challenge yourself with, and the introduction of the Sonic Drop feature. This can be done by pressing up on the D-Pad just like the Hard Drop feature that a lot of modern Tetris games have now. However, unlike in modern Tetris games, the Sonic Drop doesn't automatically lock the piece in place. This can allow you to do much faster tucks and moves without wasting too much time, but still requires you to press down afterwards to lock the piece in place where you want it.
On Normal mode, there are 300 levels. Once you reach level 300, your timer stops and you get to continue playing in 20G mode for the credits roll. Surviving the 20G credits roll is not required to complete Normal mode, but it's always fun to continue playing and have fun with instant gravity. The tricky part for me is getting used to the up-down motion of locking the piece in place quickly on lower gravity speeds, which is something I'm not used to doing in modern Tetris games. Enjoy!
