Hi friends!
This is a video review of the Arches rough watercolor paper (Orange block). I also demonstration
Some information about the Arches Rough paper:
- Cold press (duh =P )
- 100% cotton
- 140 lb
- 20 sheets in the block
In the video:
(00:00) - Intro
(00:45) - Paper info
(01:42) - Unpacking
(03:33) - Example paintings
(06:42) - Demo
(12:41) - Conclusion
Pros:
- Packaging is super-comfy. Pages are glued together and are really nice to use as a rough surface.
- Durable paper, allows for many layers.
- Slow dry (not an official feature, my experience). It allows you to re-work and do very nice wet-in-wets!
Cons:
- Rough texture can be a downside if you want to achieve super-smooth results. I didn't mention, but it can also be pretty hard to use with a pen-brush (the one that stores water), as you sometimes need A LOT of water to get over the rough texture.
As a quick note, I'm now dividing my channel's content into mini "shows". This one is called TOOLS, and it's the first episode (:
I hope you enjoy and have an awesome rest of the day,
- Liron
** I'm not affiliated with Arches or any of the equipment I show in the video. Maybe one day though (;
