[Archive] Metroid II: Return of Samus -- In Blinding COLOR?!
Normally I wouldn't go for this kind of thing by default... but I decided this case deserved a little bit of a special treatment. The 35th anniversary of Metroid is the 30th anniversary of Metroid II, after all.
But colorizing Metroid II is merely making good on the "promise" that Super Game Boy's box art and other promotional materials that Metroid II would have some specialized palettes... but it was never meant to be, I suppose. They didn't even give it the "DX" treatment on Game Boy Color like several other original Game Boy titles...
But, fret not! Fans will do it! Several times, in fact! ...this one's been getting refined so long after the efforts of the past that it only released officially in 2019!
Honestly, the default Game Boy Color palette would also have sufficed, because turning the whole background to blues with contrasting character sprites to give Samus something resembling her usual appearance works well enough on its own.
I just felt like trying something different and interesting, at any rate.
