Okay, sorry about the rant about copyright and such on the preceding upload, but it's actually been gnawing at me a lot longer than I thought it would.

I originally just anguished over whether or not it was an appropriate archival method, since I doubt anyone REALLY wants to watch five hours of on-demand Super Metroid without even the vestiges or pretense of its original live format... but adding on flagrant copyright abuse really was the last straw.

And if you noticed the trend, it was this very case that made me slam on the brakes with my archival uploads... even the ones that are totally unaffected by them, because... um... I just need a scapegoat, okay?!

If this seems at all familiar, it's part of the bigger stream archive that I did absolutely nothing to before chucking it onto the massive inbox pile and let it sit there:

(I'll presumably unlist this video when the full re-archival process is complete, and the less troubling form factor is eventually achieved.

The key difference in THIS video is... I have the first several minutes of audio back! You know, the title screen and such. The part that's somehow ever even remotely in contention.

I decided to put my editing gloves on and reduced the intro to the first several unique demonstrations of stuff... including advanced maneuvers like the Shinespark, the Crystal Flash, and... an alternate use of Power Bombs that I'd never even suspected was a thing. (You have to manually unequip all but one Charge Beam and one other, which I'm going to hazard the guess that basically no one would ever think to do for any reason.)

Since I have no idea how anyone actually learns how to DO those things from these "attract mode" vignettes, I've uploaded a separate highlight about at least the one of them I found most interesting and arcane, the Crystal Flash:

This also helps me cope somewhat with the biggest difference between live and on-demand videos... running a proper stream kinda requires you idle on the title screen for a bit if even your most dedicated weirdo brigade members are to have any chance of knowing you're going to be streaming.

I mean, either that... or you, like... have a schedule? But... my time isn't nearly organized or guaranteed to be my own that I could do such a thing! (It's still probably good to give the notification gang a fighting chance, though.)

And... y'know, I mean... I don't pretend to know video content production OR consumption, but... if it was me... I'd certainly feel less inclined to start gnawing away at an hours-long chunk of video than taking a gander at a fifteen-minute nugget of targeted content once in awhile.

I idly speculated about this and even asked for volunteers to complain about the great misdeed I had done, but got no takers... so... this is what happens when I'm left to my own devices.

You should probably complain about that. It's the only way I'll ever learn!
