Arcs - Minecraft Animation Tips (12 Principles of Animation)
What'sup Survivalists! ItsCheif from #TeamWnJ here to Enhance your Animations and Tell your Stories!
This video goes through how to use the 7th Principle of Animation, "Arcs" for your animations. This principle refers to the way an object moves naturally with an arcing motion instead of linear, straight lines.
I spend most of the video discussion the theory of how something moves in an arc and why, as well as discuss how the rule must be used for animations to look natural by showing you examples of pivots.
Finally, I use an example scene of the FMR guy swinging a sword to demonstrate a common mistake in the Minecraft animation community, the mistake of animating the hand instead of the shoulder, leading to strange looking, linear animations instead of proper arcs.
