Catan, Monopoly, Carassonne, Clue, Guess Who, Ticket To Ride, Codenames, Scrabble, Pandemic, Uno, Jenga and other modern board games often get reviewed by many gamers on Youtube, through Board Game Geek, gaming vlogs as well as everyday people like you and me.

In this video we discuss what it means to review a game. Why do board game reviewers have such influence on the buyers and how we can learn to separate the bias we see in games as personal tastes which may differ from different reviewers and buyers. Being aware of the issues that come with a board game review including how the board game was acquired, the reviewer's personal tastes as well as what their preferences are is important to assess. This vlog examines my own perspective of a board game reviewer and as a board game consumer.

It is really important to be completely transparent about a review and a play experience. This helps to keep opinions authentic and contextualised especially for a viewer.

This topic is something that I have reflected, pondered and thought about for a long time and this video was really difficult and challenging to make. I feel like I have only really scraped the surface when it comes to sharing my feelings as a reviewer and content creator. I hope this video gives you an honest look and insight into how I approach things and that you'll understand how thought provoking the whole process can be.
