Are Full Service Brokers Richer than Discount Brokers?
In The situations like Covid pandemic the only industry that was in working mode all the time and also generated profits is the one & only stock market industry.

In the FY17 the discount broker we capturing only 7% of the market share but now command about 45% of the market share in terms of active clients.
In FY17 the bank-based stockbrokers go with an estimated share of around 30% which is now in FY21 is 22%.
In FY17 the traditional stockbrokers were covering most of the market share with 63% and now in FY21, it has decreased to 33% with is totally half of FY17.
But more active clients don’t mean more revenue. Bank-based and Full-service stockbrokers play on brokerage by charging more brokerage whereas discount brokers focus on volume.
Discount brokers are surging ahead in terms of client acquisitions, while bank-led brokers have maintained revenue market share.
However, traditional brokers have lost ground both in terms of client acquisition and revenue market share.
Several factors contributed to the influx of retail investors into equity markets in the current fiscal.
These include user-friendly trading platforms, including on mobile, and schemes with very low brokerage; the relatively low-interest yield on savings and deposits.
The rating agency says, discount brokers grabbed a significant market share of active clients, but they still lag bank-led brokers in terms of revenue market share.
