Are our communities of progress in retreat? UN AIDS discusses current communities of progress in this panel conversation. We touch on how communities have always been at the forefront in the response to the AIDS epidemic -- from breaking the conspiracy of silence that surrounded the HIV outbreak in the 1980s, to confronting stigma, ensuring all people have access to affordable treatment and prevention options, and pushing the boundaries and leveraging the AIDS response for broader human rights issues, including around LGBTQI rights.
Panel includes author/AIDS activist Regan Hofmann (POZ/UN AIDS), Scott Schoettes (Lambda Legal), and Patrick Eba (UN AIDS Country Director in the Central African Republic).
