So, we come to the Rangers, Fast (for a Dwarf) and rocking either good, solid crossbows or axes to hurl with maximum invective, coming with STALK in order to take opponents by surprise... maybe. Hopefully. there is an argument that if you're not going to Stalk then there's no point using Rangers.

But keep in mind that the enemy won't shell invisible Rangers from 400 meters away long before the lines clash. Sometimes that matters.
