Area D (Longplay): Part 1of5 - The Introduction
Today, I want to show you the game that isn't very well-known. Actually, it's one of those «you may have never heard of» games. And if you haven't heard about this one, you can actually say «Thank God for that!» since this one is a completely f***d up game. I mean it, it's one of the worst adventures I've EVER played and believe me, I've played a lot (kinda deep in the genre as you can see). There's no proper story in this game, the whole longplay will take only a few minutes (!!!), it looks INCREDIBLY cheap, puzzles are stupid and live action actors... Well, you'll need to see it, since there are no words to say HOW bad the actors are. It's like, «OMG what did I just see?!!». In other words, this game is laughable. Don't take it seriously, I just wanted to show you something that most people haven't heard about. So, here we are -- Are D, developed by Dosch Design and also known as Danger Island and Dinosaurs: Danger Island. My version though titles as «Are D», so, I'll call it this way too.
-------------------------------
Technical Note: This game has a very low resolution, so I've tried to remove the black space around the game window, but it looks like cut-scenes are showing a little higher than I need them, so, there's a little part of inventory at the bottom every time. Sorry for that, can do nothing about it. It's not a big deal anyway. This game will work with any version of Windows -- from Win 95 to Win 7. This video was taken from 2001 re-release of the game. All in all it's the same with the original release, there're just some extras (demo versions of the other games) on disc this time. Also, there's no installation program for this game, the game works from the disc directly. You can save your games in any place on your HDD though.
Also, you may notice that chapters are very short. It may look like there was no point to split my walkthrough into such small videos, but there actually was one. And this reason is -- the game is INCREDIBLY buggy. It may freeze, or stop showing any videos anytime. So, I've split it in small chapters, so I don't need to replay the whole game again after another bug. Just use my playlist to watch the whole playthrough, sorry for such inconvenience.
-------------------------------
Chapter One: Intro. Well, that's it. It's an introduction movie. The funny thing is -- it's just a compilation of in-game videos. Even funnier thing -- it covers nearly the whole game, so it may be a good idea not to watch it before the game itself, but it wasn't my idea to show all of this in the beginning of the game. So, you have been warned and it's up to you to decide what to do.
