Ark - How To Make A Mutton Farm / How Slaughtering Ovis Works
606This was my first crack at making a mutton farm and it seems to work pretty well, so I thought it might be useful for other people to see. It also counteracts the problem with Ovis dropping their babies under the ground.
We have a x3 harvest multiplier on our server, so I would expect you to be getting about 175 mutton from the mature Ovis I slaughtered, rather than the 500+ I got.
Just as an important note - if you do find an Ovis baby under the ground and use the "cheat ghost" command to go underneath the world then you need to try not to go into the water. If you do happen to do that and find yourself falling through the world then you'll need to swim out to proper water and use the "cheat walk" command to stop that happening.
