Will armor make any difference?

Yes it will:
Tested with 30 fortitude
Flak 100 armor = 14,4 ~ 3,4 hits
Chitin 50 armor = 24,7 ~ 2,0 hits
Cloth 10 armor = +50,0 ~ 1 hit
