I was busy placing ops and I let a fireball through which is what ultimately killed Bean. If she were E2 or if I were more on the ball that wouldn't have happened.

There's quite a few placements for Thorns that you can use for this run. If you have very strong ranged DPS you can place Thorns on the bottom right of the map facing left (between the 2 spawn points). This lets you use minimal effort to hold both melee lanes (and also pickup hoverboards that get through) while being safe from the fireballs.
Alternatively all the way on the left facing up to spawn camp the second traveler / hoverboards.
