Ashes of Creation is going to have a player driven world; this includes both the Node System and the Castle System. What is unique about the Castle System in Ashes of Creation is that by conquering a castle, the guild leader become the Regional Monarch, effectively in control of 20% of the world. This is a bold design given the nature of players in 2020 and is going to be something that may make or break a region of the world.

This video is going to attempt to explain the Castle System in Ashes of Creation including Castle Regions, Zones of Influence, Economic Regions, Monarch Influence Dials, and Castle Nodes. Of course, this is only going to be a rough overview of the system, as many of the systems aren’t not flushed out enough to properly cover in-depth, but this should be enough of an explanation to get you started.
