The most controversial and misunderstood mechanic in @Ashes of Creation has got to be the Corruption system. many people think that you always get corruption when you kill someone in the open world. The truth is you only get corruption when you murder someone in the open world.

Murder, in Ashes of Creation, is when you not only
1) flag for PvP on a non-combatant but it also requires the person to
2) not fight back.

Unfortunately, what most people haven’t quite realized is that if you are carrying expensive gatherables you will fight back simply because the percentage that you drop is reduced when you die as a combatant rather than as a non-combatant.
