《刺客信条：大革命》游戏的背景设定在18世纪的巴黎，法国大革命时 期。藉由新世代绘图硬体呈现更细致写实的场景与角色。本作主角名“亚诺”，来自日耳曼语里的鹰，设定为18世纪的法国，Ezio时代的庄园系统回归，主角将与巴黎刺客兄弟会一同进行战斗，支持4人合作模式。在巴黎的街道上，挨餓的市民們逐漸起義為自由與平等而戰。在這充滿暴力與混亂的年代裡，亞諾在失去摯愛之後、選擇了踏上危險的贖罪之路。亞諾的追查讓他深深扯進這場決定國家未來的無情鬥爭當中，同時他也將逐步成長為一名真正的刺客大師。
