So as a lot of you know I was not a big fan of Assassin’s Creed Two despite people saying it’s the best in the franchise. Now some of my major criticism was that the combat was boring and unbalanced, The traversal had a lot of stop and go and felt ultimately clunky, and stealth that felt unpolished given the restrictive level design. When it came to the story I didn’t like the antagonist and felt like Ezio was written like a 15-year-olds fanfiction as he never makes a mistake and it made out to be seemingly perfect. Now I was expecting to have a lot of the same criticisms this time around but I am happy to report that finally, I have a non-controversial opinion in that I really enjoyed my playthrough of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I thought that the level design was much better, the restrictive elements of gameplay were left for only those seeking such a challenge and the story was miles better than its predecessor. Despite Brotherhood being in a lot of ways the same game as Assassin’s Creed Two on the surface, it has done everything the previous game has so much better, that the difference is night and day. While it may feel smaller in the sense that the game's story, gameplay, and the world are simplified and streamlined, the more simplified game has allowed Brotherhood to excel in few objectives rather than have a wider scope of mediocrity.

This video could have easily been a typical "In Defense of Assassins Creed Brotherhood" or "A Critique of Assassins Creed Brotherhood". I decided to take a more thesis heavy approach in order to keep these videos from becoming too formulaic and I enjoyed the way I handled it in the "Assassin's Creed Two" video. This Assassins Creed Brotherhood Analysis is meant to look at how the game was on paper much simpler than Assassins Creed Two yet was able to achieve more. This video is apart of my general Assassins Creed Retrospective and I will try to cover as many of them as possible up to the release of the new Assassins Creed game. By the end of this series, you will have Assassins Creed explained and you will know what I think the worst Assassins Creed is and what the best Assassins Creed game is. If you guys are wondering, I will likely review Assassins Creed Valhalla when it releases but do not expect a review immediately.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is a 2010 video game and the direct sequel of 2009's Assassin's Creed II, picking up right after the conclusion of the previous game. The story once again features Ezio Auditore da Firenze, now a legendary Master Assassin, as he strives to rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood in Rome, by bringing down the tyrannical Templar family, the Borgia, and bringing the city into the true wealth and wonder of the Renaissance. A sequel for Brotherhood was announced in May 2011, entitled Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and was released in November of the same year.
