Ubisoft is adding a new story chapter to Assassin's Creed Mirage, set in the 9th-century desert oasis city of AlUla. The new downloadable content (DLC), which will be free for all players, is scheduled for release later in 2025.
The free DLC will include a new story chapter and missions set in the ancient Arabian city, alongside various gameplay improvements for the base game and the new setting. No further details were revealed yet, but it’s set to arrive at some point later this year, so we should hear something soon.
In a surprising move, Ubisoft is offering the DLC for free to everyone who owns Assassin's Creed Mirage. This counters previous expectations that the game would not receive major post-launch content.
The DLC will take players to the ancient Arabian city of AlUla, located in present-day Saudi Arabia. This location is famous for its stunning rock formations, carved tombs, and rich heritage, providing a fresh setting compared to the base game's Baghdad.
The expansion will feature new missions and a fresh narrative arc focusing on protagonist Basim Ibn Ishaq. One image teased a moment that could potentially involve Basim's exiled father.
The expansion reinforces Mirage's core focus on a more intimate, stealth-driven experience, which was a deliberate move away from the expansive RPG-style gameplay of recent Assassin's Creed titles.
